Story Animators & Gravity Adventurers

Saga Dance Collective creates dance theatre for children, youth and adults.
Imagination, sense impresisons, visual magic and the exploration of dance theatre in a cross genre context, is a trademark for the productions of Saga.
The Saga Collective of Story Animators & Gravity Adventures has created performances, films and other artistic productions since 2007, initiated by choreographer, auteur and dancer Ingrid Tranum Velásquez, and as the name suggest the motivation was to animate stories with a scenic language that at the same time challenged, the limitations, expression and form of the dance.
Saga strives at creating a unique concept for each performance in collaboration with creating and performing artists from various genres and tendencies within both the stage arts and the art world as a whole. The artists are engaged to match the various productions and concepts and Saga has therefore had a broad variety of collaborators during the years.

For children and yout audience:
We create challenging, moving, poetic and philosophical dance theatre for children and youth, with performances that relate to the world around us and the existential questions inside us.
Children are not becommings, but beings, with own existential and philosophical thoughts about life and the world they live in, which preoccupies them at different moments in childhood and youth.
We create scenic experiences for children and youth, where dance, music, theatre, visual arts and media melt together into new expressions.
The production 'Paolo & Money' about life as a street child was nominated for a Reumert as children performnace of the year 2012.

For adult audience:
Our works for adults also takes its pivotal point in the world around us and the existential considerations and questions inside ourselves and inbetween us in society.
We wonder, investigate, protest against, make attention to, indulge into, and let ud seduce by the many stories, concepts and thoughts that surrounds us, only waiting to be made into performing arts. With works based on dance, music, visual arts and media, we explore the possibilities of what dance theatre can be.

There are always stories to be told!
Unavoidable stories, melancholic stories, abstract stories, curious stories, crazy stories, serious stories, tough stories, mind blowing stories, wild stories, heartbreaking stories, stories that have been forgotten...
With visual poetry, curiousity, absurdity and the sensous language of dance, Saga touches upon the stories of life....the political, the poetic, the unbeliavable, the unthinkable, the fantastic...
